Himachal Pradesh’s ambitious digital governance campaign has achieved a remarkable milestone by delivering a record 22.78 lakh citizen services through the e-District Portal in 2024, the highest figure recorded to date.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Sunday that the initiative reflects his government’s commitment to making administration more accessible, transparent, and efficient, enabling citizens to access government services from the comfort of their homes.

Digital transformation has become a key focus area for the state government. In 2023, around 14.97 lakh services were delivered online, while in 2025, the figure has already crossed 15 lakh, with expectations of further growth in the remaining months.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, the number of online services available on the e-District Portal has grown nearly fourfold—from 113 in 2022 to 436 in 2025. The steady increase from 217 services in 2023 to 251 in 2024 underscores the administration’s determined push toward comprehensive e-governance.
Gokul Butail, Principal Advisor (IT and Innovation) to the Chief Minister, said that digital services have revolutionized citizen access to government facilities by allowing people to apply for documents and services anytime and from anywhere, saving both time and money.
He added that citizens can also access these services conveniently through Lok Mitra Kendras across the state.
In line with the Chief Minister’s vision, efforts will continue to ensure that every resident benefits from transparent, efficient, and easily accessible digital services, Butail said.
The Chief Minister added that all departments have been directed to adopt paperless, presence-less, and cashless systems.
A pilot project in select tehsils of the Revenue Department now enables property registration without a single visit to a government office, a move that has received encouraging public feedback.
He further noted that other departments are being encouraged to expand similar digital initiatives to improve public service delivery and support the state’s transition to a fully digital administration.
